Brief indication of Buddhism and Science dialogue
Since from the twenty first century, the development of technology is so fast and its light wave spread to all over the world, and that light wave also pervaded forwardly inside the life of all the people’s thinking. But we the people of Tibet’s seed of education is the Tibet- Buddhism which has already taught by the incomparable kindness of Lord Buddha. This is the two themes that predominate are wisdom and compassion, the two great principles of Buddhism, traditionally compared to the two wings of a Bird.
The scientific revolution influenced the development of the today’s whole world values of nations on global scientific and development, just like industrialize, technological skilled, military affairs, capitalism and the like. Our great lama said that the Buddhism and Science dialogue almost thirty years ago, so our educational system developing from the beginning of ancient knowledge of wisdom to the modern world’s education system. Therefore we are being followers of his great or relevant speech. This platform of Tibet Buddhism and modern science dialogue is not like general talk but also for freedom of speech, democracy, equality and easy way of discussion on anything. There is no limitation of national border line, even the time too and irrespective of cast, race, sex, religion and so on. This is the best platform to learn education as like as the classroom without giving any fees.
Probably this dialogues on Buddhism and science is the longest discussion between the Buddhist science and Modern science. It is organized by Karpo chikthup on 2011, he is the first chairman of this WeChat group has consisted by fourteen members, and then it gradually developed to one hundred members, and right now we have presented five hundreds members. He is very genuine or strong intention towards education like as definition by Je Tsongkapa, he has said similar as follows:
“This, which is accomplished persistently as an essence, buy the supreme leader through infinite hardships, i pray that! may i spend day and night with the idea of spreading that.”
He established this committee to be beneficial for all of us as well as his own aspiration is also like above statement which is said by Je Tsongkapa. The second term of the chairman of this committee is Jampa Tsulten who managed for almost two years. And now the chairman is Geshe Jorchok, he will be managing as same as before and arrangement for different topics to talk on the Buddhism and science. This is a free platform to debate or suggest of your own opinions through the argument of refuting and defending.
Moreover, there many great scholars of both the Buddhist philosophy and modern science, namely such as Jamyang Borbu who is a Geshe of Drupung loseling, Thake Lodoe from Sera Je monastery, Chamdo Sherab, Dong Yonten Gyatso and a lot of Geshes, Doctors, Translators, Teachers, Abbots, writers or Authors and so forth. This WeChat group or committee run by the Geshes who are graduated from Emory University and students who are graduated from science workshops in different Monasteries at Tibet community. And there are many scholars of Tibet culture and also many students who are very interesting to learn listening through the audio recording of the debate.
Thus, it is like a conference hall to debate on the bases of Buddhism and Science between Scholars, it is also a bridge for interaction directly with regard to Buddhist conception and scientific theory and so on are mutually argument to learn rationale and empirical reality. Through this kind of discussions we will understand what is different between the Eastern and Western philosophy or idealism and materialism around the world. In short it is a small office will definitely contribute to the Tibet society the education of politics, economics as well as of studying hard on and around Tibet. We all know about this debate is a program to perform one’s own skill to be put into practice through personal interaction between outside and inside Tibet.
We are going to make an authentic Website of the Buddhism and Science dialogue. It is a new project on 2020, because of putting or up load the dialogues of Audios, Videos, Pictures, News letters, Thesis, Dissertations, and collection of Articles. Also we have a planing to publish Journals and contact to Science departments. Actually we have a lot of educational systems or cultural programs yet main cultural studying is the Buddhism philosophy to spend more time to learn as well as to keep on and on in the Society. But it is not only enough in this century. So we have to study science for going with scientist or progressive scientific education in our community along with to translate science into Tibet language, for it is an easy way of learning the science through our own language by next generations.
Each and everyone knows to make a website is not an easy, it is like a baby born in a family because we need education and time to manage it forever, as like mother take-care for growth of baby. We have to spend more money and more man who will work well on time.
